Week Three at a Glance

To all our honoured guests, artists, thinkers, creators, and friends. We are near the half-way mark. As we look back on a productive and exciting two weeks, we are always looking forward to what joys and possibilities will offer themselves to us in the future.

Here’s a brief run-down of what is coming up next week:

Sunday, July 17

Please join us for a communal dinner at Platypus house around 6pm. We hope to cap off another wonderful week together with shared food, shared stories, and shared space. Please bring anything you would like to contribute to the spread.  We hope to see any of you who are willing and able to make it there.

Monday, July 18

10am – UNC 212 Orientation/Debrief

We would like to invite everyone to join us for this Monday’s orientation session. This week’s orientation session will be held in Aboriginal Centre which is located in UNC 212, a short walk over from the residences and studios. The UNC is the student union building (the main building on campus).

This will be followed by a special guest speaker.

11am – 12:30pm Guest Speaker Dr. Eloisa Garcia Tamez – Commons room Aboriginal Programs and Services

“The U.S. Border Wall Revisited: A Health and Wellness Crisis for Indigenous Peoples and Refugees.”

Wednesday, July 20

Noon – ADM 026 Weekly Roundtable Conversation.

This week’s weekly roundtable discussion will circulate around the ideas of body memories and body futures. Ayumi Goto will be moderating the panel discussion.

This week’s guests are Olivia Whetung, Mark Igliolorte, Mimi Gellman, Haruko Okano, and Osvaldo Yero. We look forward to yet another dynamic conversation.
