Cheryl L’Hirondelle, resident artist at recon/recon, works in new media, songwriting, community organization among many other media. One of her projects has been working with women in prison, workshopping songs with them, and eventually producing a video that represents this process. While in the residency, Cheryl enlisted the other women artists to help her make this video, with the assistance of videographer Gabe Archie. Together they have been shooting, using the soundtrack of the song written by the women in prison. Here are some stills and video from the process in the residency.
