Responding to the lack of diversity in the 2010 announcement of Canada Excellence Research Chairs, the Council of Canadian Academies struck an expert panel at the request of the Minister of Industry to explore the question of “Why?” Their final report,Strengthening Canada’s Research Capacity: The Gender Dimension, was released in November 2012. Join Veronica Strong-Boag (University of British Columbia) and Lorna Williams (University of Victoria) for a conversation hosted by Lynn Wells (First Nations University) on the report’s recommendations and how we can move forward in ensuring diversity in research support across Canada.
